Glasgow Museum of Transport

This landmark project will create an iconic transport museum on the banks of the river Clyde, at the heart of Glasgow harbor development. It is due to open in spring 2011.

Kashec’s Contribution:

Kashec was assigned to provide detailed structural design and detailing services for this project along with scheme design drawings. Drawings were produced within a demanding time scale.

Commercial Centre at High Street Flitwick

This project by Hazel mere Homes Ltd. Bedfordshire is the development of retail outlets and offices at High street Flit wick. The three storey high structures is primarily supported on external load bearing cavity walls combined with steel Portals for lateral restraint. The floors are of precast hollow core slab units and the roof consist of a combination of several valleys and ridges and is formed by attic roof trusses supported on steelwork.

 Kashec’s Contribution:

 Kashec was entrusted with the job of preparation of structural scheme, detailed design and drawings for the entire project. The job involved the design of complex composite structures comprising of concrete, structural steel, timber work and precast flooring.

This project is the development of hospital building and is a two storey structure. Total area on one floor is approximately 3000 m2.

The specialty of the structure mainly involves in construction method used, which is a combination of traditional RC, steel and concrete post tension slab.

Entire slab was constructed by post tensioning method; and is treated as flat slab (flat plate), without any intermediate beam framing. We have carried out this work in association with Strong Force.

Kashec’s Contribution:

Kashec was entrusted with the job of preparation of detailed design and complete detailing of post tensioned slabs. Entire design for PT slabs, including tendon profile etc was carried out in our office. Detail drawings for slab reinforcement tendon profiles and shear links were prepared by us. We used BS as well as Euro codes for this project
